Woodland Crafts and Arts is how we started out
in 1995. Over the past 15 years we have played with trees and wood
and more. The natural environment, what we can learn from it and in
it, what we can do with it, has always been at the centre of what we
do. We use traditional and contemporary crafts in conjunction with an artistic element to inspire ideas on how to sustain ourselves and our woodlands in a sustainable way. We grow trees, plant them and use them. Hopefully our work will encourage appropriate respect to prosper. Many people at festivals, schools, community groups and parties have participated in the activities we bring. We give demonstrations or facilitate workshops in pole-lathing and green woodworking totem pole carving willow sculptures dream-catcher weaving willow and tissue paper sculptures papermaking charcoal burns coppice techniques drawing and painting woodland sculptures The products we make are all from locally sourced trees, either windblown or felled from a sustainably managed woodland. The art we create is inspired by nature.
